    Biography

I have worked in breast oncology for 30 years and joined the Dana Farber Breast Oncology Group in March 2010. Prior to coming to the DFCI, I worked as the clinical nurse specialist/coordinator at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Breast Care Program. Since 1982 I have been a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and have served on the Editorial Review Board of the Oncology Nursing Forum and was a corresponding member of the Government Relations Committee. I am also a past President of the Boston Chapter of ONS. My practice has focused on helping women access quality breast care services and strive to be a strong advocate for evidence based practice.  In the early 1990s I had the privilege of serving on the National Institutes of Health National Action Plan on Breast Cancer as well the Human Genome Project Peer Review Panel on Heritable Breast, Ovarian and Colon Cancer Risk.

I served on the “panel of experts” for Dr Susan Love’s website and represent her Foundation on the Board of the National Breast Cancer Coalition -a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to end breast cancer through advocacy and action. The past few years I have worked as part of the advocate group for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2CA) which has given me the opportunity to work closely with the DF/HCC Patient Advocate Group lead by Elizabeth Frank. I am excited about the opportunity to work at the DFCI with many dedicated clinicians and researchers as I continue my nursing career.
